We leave experiments with fashionable flavors and decorations to the artists, we focus on reliable confectionery craftsmanship.
Our baked goods are based on recipes from the family kitchen, which have been perfected and enriched with new ingredients and technologies for three generations. Modernized production lines and the use of technical facilities allow our team to meet the expectations of today's demanding customers, who are both wholesale customers from the HoReCa industry or stores, as well as every cookie lover who orders in our online store and buys in company confectioneries.
But let's go back to the beginning...
The company was founded in 1994 in Gowin near Wejherowo by Mr. and Mrs. Jacek and Beata.
The boss gave the project his name and a lot of heart put into spreading its wings. The chef - along with her heart, added her mother's priceless recipes and her own passion for baking.
Our archive contains a short promotional video from the earlier years of the company's activity, we watch it with emotion and with a grain of salt (especially the quality of the recording).
Watch: Jacek Placek – homemade cakes
Thinking about the name of the company for a moment - you know: if Jacek and cakes, then there is a natural association with the children's rhyme "Jacek Placek..." And did you know that the genesis of this rhyme was most likely the story of St. Jacek, who helped the poor and fed them... with dumplings. In the past, dumplings were often called pancakes and were fried in oil. Well, the saint gained the nickname Saint Jack of Pierogi, and over time someone added a funny song about a boy stealing treats from his mother in the kitchen.
The silhouette of a little sweet tooth appeared in our company's logo, and to make things even more interesting... years later, we launched a line producing dumplings according to our family's home recipes.
And so, for over a quarter of a century, Jacek Placek has been serving customers an increasingly wide range of delicious cakes and tortes, enriching the offer with salty snacks and dumplings. Three company confectioneries were opened in Gdańsk and Sopot, and in Wejherowo, in the local Kashubian Philharmonic, the Busola club café, offering our baked goods.
Confectionery shop on Gdańsk Street Zaspa has recently undergone remodeling and has become a local sweet cafe, where at a few tables you can order delicious coffee or ice cream with our sweets, make an appointment with a friend or have an informal business meeting.
In Wejherowska Compass we fulfill ourselves not only as restaurateurs and catering suppliers, but also as patrons of contemporary art, you could say. The premises host periodic exhibitions of painting and photographic works by local artists.
The company has had its own facility for two years online shop, where you can order most of our cakes, cakes and snacks delivered to any address.
For lovers of tasty, traditional baked goods and people who do not have much time or confectionery skills, this form of ordering is an ideal solution.
With convenience and the changing needs of the HoReCa industry in mind, we started producing single-portion desserts, eagerly seen at various events and special occasions.
Our offer of special occasion cakes includes decoration with flowers, toppers and prints on wafers, as well as personalization of inscriptions.
This summer we made our debut - with great success - as an exhibitor at the Dominican Fair in Gdańsk.
Our blueberry cakes, homemade buns and cheesecakes were incredibly successful, disappearing like... the proverbial hot cakes!
This made us realize that customers are still inclined towards traditional, natural flavors - and our corporate mission makes sense. Thank you!
